My friend hates Taylor Swift. Typical? I am starting to think so. So we had this party where I’m the DJ rocking some tunes when I played what I thought what would be a good choice for a song. I was mistaken. It was not.
I could see the girl across from me, on the barstool dancing. I could see her holding up two fingers, and letting her hair sway nicely. I could say she was having a good time but everyone else wasn’t responding the same way. My friend, Joe, signalled me to come closer and told me, “never Taylor Swift” and I willingly jumped back to my controller and queued up a song I thought the guys might like, and I guess they did.
They’re into R&B, a genre I only started liking because of them.
About the n-word, right.
We have to talk about that.
Some say racial slur, others say popular culture.
Because I was called their nigga once 😂 I was a little offended at first but came to realize what an honor it was to be somebody’s nigga.
Ma nigga, ma nigga.
Ma nigga, my motherfucking nigga.
It should be.
In the world of R&B culture, the n-word is nothing short of a term of endearment.
But we had another term of endearment,
Often said in a bro tone among us bros with extended syllables.
But let’s get back to nigga –
a nigga ain’t no pussy, a nigga got no rules, a nigga is a nigga
being nigga a class of its own.
